Dentist takes stand against sweets
LIBERTYVILLE -- A Libertyville dentist is redefining the phrase "put your money where your mouth is."
On Nov. 1, trick-or-treaters can bring their excess candy to Dr. Eugene Ingles' office and receive $1 per pound.
"Ditch the candy, that's what we're saying," said Ingles, whose office is at 915 N. Milwaukee Ave., Suite B. "Visiting your dentist twice a year and brushing daily are great preventative measures, but doing away with excess sweets altogether would really give your teeth a healthy boost.
"Kids can still have all the fun of trick-or-treating, and now their piggy banks will benefit, as well."
Dr. Ingles also will be giving away glowing electric tooth brushes in exchange for candy.
Candy will be collected in his Libertyville office the day after Halloween only from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The candy must be unopened.
